Dendrimer

Unitron 3000 is a 100% solids alkyd-based dendrimer for trials involving controlled water incorporation in selected solvent-borne paints and lacquers.

Specialty resin and additive range

The current specialty range covers Unitron 3000 dendrimer additive, Unigum glycerol esters of rosin and UMaleic or Unisol rosin-modified maleic resins. These are separate chemistries with different formulation roles; the individual product pages provide the technical data and application limits needed for grade selection.

Applications

Adhesives and sealants

Unigum E-90 serves pressure-sensitive adhesives; E-95 and E-105 serve hot-melt adhesives, with E-105 also used in sealants and tape labels.

Printing inks and road-marking paints

Unigum E-90 and E-95 serve printing inks, while E-105 is used in road-marking paints.

Hammertone paints and stoving varnishes

UMaleic MR 25 serves hammertone paints, printing inks, sanding sealers and stoving varnish.

NC lacquers and sanding sealers

UMaleic MR 20 serves NC lacquers and sanding sealers; Unisol M 70 is supplied as a 70% solution in MTO for lacquer and paint applications.

Water incorporation in solvent-borne formulations

Unitron 3000 is intended for trials that incorporate water into selected solvent-borne paints and lacquers. Compatibility, addition level, mixing order, storage stability and film performance must be established in the complete formulation.

Which products are included in the specialty resin and additive range?

The current range includes Unitron 3000 dendrimer additive, Unigum E-90, E-95 and E-105 ester gums, UMaleic MR 20 and MR 25 rosin-modified maleic resins, and Unisol M 70 supplied in solution. The products serve different paint, lacquer, ink, adhesive and sealant formulation routes and should not be treated as interchangeable.

Does Unitron 3000 make an alkyd system waterborne?

No. Unitron 3000 is intended for trials involving controlled water incorporation in selected solvent-borne paints and lacquers. It does not independently convert an alkyd formulation into a waterborne system. Compatibility, mixing order, addition level, storage stability and film performance must be established with the specific alkyd and complete formulation.

How do ester gum and rosin-modified maleic resin differ?

Unigum ester gums are glycerol esters of rosin used as tackifying or modifying resins in compatible adhesives, inks and paints. UMaleic MR and Unisol M are rosin-modified maleic resins for selected lacquers, sealers, primers, enamels and related coatings. Their chemistry, softening point, acid value, viscosity, supplied form and application roles are different.

What data is used to select a specialty resin grade?

Selection begins with the principal binder or polymer, solvent or water-incorporation route, processing conditions and finished-product requirements. Softening point, acid value, colour, viscosity, supplied form and compatibility narrow the options. The candidate grade should then be tested in the complete formulation under representative manufacturing, storage and application conditions.

How are samples and product documents requested?

Identify the application, current binder or polymer, solvent package, processing temperature, benchmark product and target technical values. Uniform Synthetics can then confirm the relevant grade, current TDS or specification, sample availability and supply position in India or for an established international market.
