Epoxy curing agent range

The range covers Unilite phenalkamine and phenalkamine adducts, Unimide reactive liquid polyamides and cycloaliphatic polyamine adducts. The grade tables provide solids, colour, viscosity, amine value and AHEW data for formulation work. Chemistry, mix ratio, application conditions and the selected epoxy resin must be reviewed together before a production trial.

Applications for epoxy curing agents

Marine maintenance

Unilite 7040, 7041, 7041X90 and the 7000 adduct grades serve marine and protective coating systems.

Protective industrial coatings

Unilite 7077, 7080 and 7562, together with Unimide 125, 126 and 140, serve protective and industrial coatings.

Self-levelling floors

Cycloaliphatic adducts Unilite 401 and 405 serve self-levelling floors; low-viscosity Unimide 160 is also used in flooring systems.

Casting and potting

Unimide 160 serves casting and potting compounds and combines low viscosity with a long pot life in the current product specification.

Artificial jewellery

Unimide 126 and 140 serve artificial-jewellery applications; their amine value, AHEW and viscosity ranges are shown in the table.

Construction systems

Unilite 7562 serves construction epoxy systems, while Unimide 160 is used in civil engineering systems.

Epoxy curing agent guidance

What is an epoxy curing agent?

An epoxy curing agent reacts with an epoxy resin to form the cured network in a two-component system. The curing-agent chemistry influences handling, application viscosity, cure response and finished-film properties, but the outcome depends on the complete formulation, substrate, film thickness and cure conditions. The correct grade and mix ratio must therefore be established with the selected epoxy resin.

How do phenalkamine, liquid polyamide and cycloaliphatic polyamine curing agents differ?

They are distinct curing-agent chemistries. The Unilite phenalkamine range serves marine, protective, floor and construction coatings; Unimide liquid polyamides serve coatings, adhesives, flooring, casting and related systems; and Unilite 401 and 405 are cycloaliphatic polyamine adducts for self-levelling epoxy floors. Solids, viscosity, amine value, AHEW and application conditions guide comparison.

How are epoxy EEW and curing-agent AHEW used for grade selection?

Epoxy equivalent weight and amine hydrogen equivalent weight provide the basis for an initial stoichiometric mix-ratio calculation. Use the current EEW for the epoxy resin and AHEW for the specific curing agent under review. Reactive diluents and other formulation components may affect the calculation or practical ratio, which must be checked through handling, cure and performance trials.

Which curing agents are listed for flooring and self-levelling systems?

Cycloaliphatic adducts Unilite 401 and 405 are listed for self-levelling epoxy floors. Low-viscosity Unimide 160 is used in flooring, casting and potting formulations, and Unimide 500 is listed for floor coatings. The correct option depends on the epoxy resin, fillers, pigment, application thickness, working time, appearance and cure conditions.

Which Unimide grade is a low-viscosity polyamide curing agent?

Unimide 160 is the low-viscosity liquid polyamide grade in the current range, with a listed viscosity of 3-7 poise at 25 degrees C. It is used in casting and potting compounds, self-levelling flooring and civil-engineering systems. Its AHEW, amine value, mix ratio and cure schedule must be reviewed with the selected epoxy resin and complete formulation.

Does Uniform Synthetics supply epoxy curing agents outside India?

Uniform Synthetics is an epoxy curing agent supplier from India for customers in domestic and established international markets. The commercial and technical teams can confirm the available Unilite or Unimide grade, packaging, sample quantity and product documents for the intended destination. Supply is confirmed against the current specification and agreed order requirements.

What information is needed to request a curing-agent sample or TDS?

Provide the epoxy resin and its EEW, application, substrate, target mix viscosity, working time, cure conditions, film thickness and service exposure. If available, include the current hardener, mix ratio and benchmark performance. This allows the technical team to identify relevant grades and provide the appropriate current technical document or sample for a controlled formulation trial.
